About Thrill Shots
During my college years, I did a radio show on the web (I was the first podcaster. Yep, it’s true.) and, as a production piece for the show, I would conclude it with an essay where I took aim and chastized newsmakers of the day for their poor form. This essay segment was called “Thrill Shots”, derived from the great AC/DC song “Shoot To Thrill” for its unyielding, brash nature.
Time came that I decided to start writing a blog, and “Thrill Shots” seemed the only appropriate title. and thrillshots.com was born.
Around the same time I retired my radio show, the social networking craze was in full swing, and keeping up with those sites and writing my blog seemed more than I was willing to do. After six years of doing the radio show and writing the blog, I felt like I was tapped for long-form material. I took down the blog and went in a different direction, but despite feeling uninspired, I never lost the desire to write.
As a result, I’ve restarted the “Thrill Shots” blog with the purpose of having this great format at my disposal. There are, after all, only so many 140-character statements one can make before feeling creatively limited.
Please enjoy the blog and feel open and free to comment on any and all posts at your leisure. I feel honored by having a readership, and would like nothing more than to see what your thoughts are on the subjects at hand.
