Ipswich Town have turned down a £35 million offer from Brentford for winger Omari Hutchinson, despite the bid reaching his now-expired relegation release clause.
The reason? Brentford’s offer was not cash up front, leading Ipswich to reject the deal outright. Although the clause has since expired, BBC Sport reports that Brentford — now led by new manager Keith Andrews — remain interested in bringing the 21-year-old to West London.
However, there’s hesitation from the Bees to meet Ipswich’s full valuation, and the club is reportedly exploring alternative winger options.
Hutchinson is seen as a potential replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who is currently being pursued by Manchester United. While Mbeumo hasn’t left Brentford yet, the club has already rejected two offers from United, the second worth up to £62.5 million.
