Newcastle have not yet received a bid for their top scorer Alexander Isak, says manager Eddie Howe.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed the club hasn’t received any formal offers for their star striker, Alexander Isak, despite mounting speculation about his future.

Isak, who is reportedly exploring options for a potential summer transfer, is not with the team on their pre-season tour of Asia. Newcastle initially stated his absence was due to a “minor thigh injury,” but sources close to the player suggest a desire to move on.

Liverpool remains interested in the 25-year-old Swedish international, even after their recent £69 million signing of Hugo Ekitike. While Newcastle has consistently maintained that Isak is not for sale, Howe admitted he isn’t in “full control” of the player’s situation.

“He is still our player. He’s contracted to us,” Howe stated at a press conference in Seoul. “We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control. We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club.”

Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for approximately £60 million and has three years left on his contract. He’s been a prolific scorer for the Magpies, netting 62 goals in 109 appearances, including an impressive 27 goals across all competitions last season.
